Discussion: Yamini is a maker who dabbles with varied mediums of art (Jewelry, Clay, Painting, Metalsmithing, Art, Papercraft, Shibori, and Screen printing)
I interviewed her to understand her mind space while she makes and how she dabbles with so many forms with such confidence. The long meandering conversation brought out the relationship Yamini has with making and using her hands. We spoke at length about what the idea of mastery, value, freedom and personal gratification meant to her.

Action: I created a little technique where I laid out all of Yamini's work as exhibits. I asked her to walk around and revisit them with a discerning eye and write out the emotions, memories, challenges, feelings or any thought her work evokes within her. These visual cards guided our conversation.
